Year in a Quick View!

Quarter1-this quarter is learning how to spot a Claim, using evidence to back up the claim and ability to show one's understanding about the claim through reasoning. Starting to write like scientists and start working on a Science Fair project using the writing skill. Hands-on-Labs, student led technological labs and reading lots of different science topics with weekly writing reports.

Quarter 2-Space 

this quarter is focus on all of the planets, meteors, constellations, stars, solar systems and the universe. Students will be reading topics on space with a weekly written assignment, hands-on-labs, research projects, story writing and student led labs. Start Science Fair Experiments at home.

Quarter 3-Earth

This quarter focus is on how Earth's layers, shape of continents, theory of continental drift, Plate Tectonics, convection currents, and how each of these affect what we visually see in the world. Students will still have weekly writing assignments, hands on labs, research labs and Finish writing the Science Fair Experiments to be ready to display work before Spring Break.

Quarter 4-Ecosystem

This quarter focuses on how climate change has affected all species, communities, ecosystem and all biomes on Earth. Students will research animals, present findings in class, work in a group on exploring a specific biome, student led labs, hands on labs and writing a weekly assignment on a science topic.

I been with Coolidge Unified since July 2015 teaching Freshmen Physical Sciences, Biology Honors and 7th Grade Science. Before joining Coolidge Unified School District I have taught at two other High Schools Biology, Biology Honors, Chemistry, Chemistry Honors, Physical Science and Physical World.  I have a Bachelors in Secondary Education in Biology, Research Background in Cancer Studies and a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction.
